Castoldi

Castoldi is an Italian waterjet manufacturer based in Albairate, near Milan. It designs and builds the Turbodrive series of marine waterjets and also builds its own range of jet tenders, including SOLAS-approved rescue boats.

The Turbodrive range covers nine models, from the direct-drive Turbodrive 224 D.D. to the Turbodrive 600 H.C.T. Maximum input power runs from 147 kW (200 mhp) to 1,986 kW (2,700 hp). A key feature of the larger units is an integrated gearbox with hydraulic clutch. Several gear ratios are available, so one jet can be matched to many engines without a separate reduction gear. The company supplies complete units that include the water intake, duct, anodes and steering and reversing levers.

Castoldi says its waterjets are suited to high-speed commercial, military and pleasure applications. Typical installations include leisure boats, rescue craft, military RIBs and workboats. The jet tender line shows the waterjets installed in Castoldi's own boats, from 14 ft tenders up to a 34 ft limousine tender.
