CSSC Marine Power

CSSC Marine Power (CMP) is the marine engine manufacturing arm of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC). It traces its origins to Zhenjiang Marine Diesel (ZJMD), established in 1976, which signed a medium-speed licence agreement with MAN in May 1980. Everllence (formerly MAN Energy Solutions) lists CMP as a four-stroke licensee at Zhenjiang, Jiangsu province, and industry reports have also named Beijing as the company's headquarters.

CMP builds Everllence-designed medium-speed four-stroke engines under licence. They are used mainly as auxiliary generating sets on merchant ships and also for propulsion and offshore applications. The company has also held an MAN two-stroke licence. By 2015 CMP had delivered about 5,000 MAN four-stroke engines, totalling around 4.7 million kW, and was described as the largest producer of MAN four-stroke engines in China. That year it renewed its four-stroke licence for ten years, and MAN described CMP as one of its major licensees worldwide.

Within CSSC's power division, CMP supplies engines to domestic shipyards for bulk carriers, tankers, container ships and offshore vessels, including engines for heavy fuel oil, marine gas oil and dual-fuel operation.
