Deutz

DEUTZ AG is a German engine manufacturer headquartered in Cologne, with more than 160 years of history. It builds off-highway drive systems up to 620 kW and is active in energy solutions, defence and electrification.

In marine, DEUTZ supplies high-speed diesel engines for commercial vessels. Its Italian marine and power-generation business lists the air-cooled 912–914 series and the liquid-cooled 1013M, 1015M and 2015M series. These cover roughly 30–500 kW at 1,500–2,500 rpm, with fixed or variable speed, for propulsion, main gensets and emergency gensets. The company says the engines are certified by the major classification societies, and it cites HVO compatibility. Deutz Italy also offers Niigata medium-speed engines (761 kW to over 6,600 kW) for heavy-duty vessels such as PSVs, tugs and AHTS, and Baudouin gensets.

DEUTZ sold its electric outboard subsidiary Torqeedo to Yamaha Motor in 2024. Its marine activity now centres on diesel engines for workboats, inland vessels and auxiliary power.
