Ilmor Marine

Ilmor Marine is the recreational marine engine business of Ilmor Engineering Inc., based in Michigan, USA. It is linked to Ilmor Engineering Ltd. in Northampton, UK, which handles engine design, development and testing. The company draws on more than 35 years of motorsport engine experience and, according to the input data, has built over 10,000 marine V8 engines.

Ilmor's main marine products are gasoline V8 inboards for tow-sports and custom boats. It is currently the sole engine supplier for MasterCraft's full tow-sport line. MasterCraft engines include 5.3L GDI, 5.3L GDI HO, 6.0L MPI, 6.2L GDI and supercharged 6.2L versions. The 6.0L MPI produces 278 kW (373 hp) at 5,200 rpm. Ilmor also supplies custom inboards to other boatbuilders.

The One-Drive sterndrive platform pairs Ilmor MV8 engines (5.3L GDI-S, 6.2L GDI-S, 7.4L MPI-S) with a sterndrive leg and the One-Touch shifting feature. Ilmor has also moved into electric propulsion with the ION, a 6 kW, 48 V electric outboard with power tilt and trim that works with lithium or lead-acid batteries.
