Kemel

KEMEL is a Japanese supplier of stern tube sealing systems and shaft bearings for ships. It has been an internal company of Eagle Industry Co., Ltd. since 2012, when KEMEL Co., Ltd. was absorbed into Eagle Industry. The division is run from Eagle Industry's Tokyo head office, with branch offices in Tokyo, Kobe and Hiroshima. It has plants in Takasago (opened May 2015), Kure and Niigata, and overseas subsidiaries in Singapore, the UK (Newcastle), the USA (New York) and China (Shanghai).

The product range includes oil-lubricated stern tube seals with air seal (AX) and compact seal (CX/DX) variants. It also includes water-lubricated stern tube seals (EVK, EVK2RT, Marine Ace Seal), stern tube bushings, intermediate shaft bearings, water-lubricated bearings in rubber (EVR) and PTFE (EVP) versions, and self- and forced-lubrication systems. KEMEL also supplies environmentally acceptable stern tube lubricant.
