Michigan Wheel

Michigan Wheel is a US propeller manufacturer in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It was founded in 1903 as a machine shop that made marine propellers among other items. In 1949 it merged with Federal Propellers to form Michigan Wheel Corporation. It acquired Canadian competitor Hall & Stavert, with its HyTorq series, in 1997, and moved to its current Buchanan Avenue site in 1960. The Anderson Group took ownership in 2009. In 2010 the company acquired UK bearing maker Shearwater Marine, and in 2013 it formed a strategic partnership with Nakashima Propeller, extending its capability to propellers of up to 13 m in diameter. A European arm opened in the UK in 2005 and later became Michigan Marine Propulsion International.

Michigan Wheel makes custom and standard propellers from 3 to 96 inches in diameter for recreational, commercial and government customers. The inboard range covers Workhorse and Machine Pitch props, the Dyna-Quad commercial family (DQ Special, Dura-Quad and the stainless Pac-Master), Kaplan propellers with nozzles for trawlers and tugs, and weedless, Power Tow, large commercial and legacy series. It also makes outboard propellers.

Other products include sterngear (struts and rudders), Aqualube rubber-sleeved bearings, bow thruster propellers and engineering services.
