Nanni Industries

Nanni Industries is a French manufacturer of marine engines and generators, founded in 1952 and based in La Teste-de-Buch near Bordeaux. It does not design its own base engines. Instead, it marinises engines from Kubota (partner since 1974), MAN Engines (since 1988), Toyota (since 2000), John Deere (since 2014) and Scania (since 2018), adding cooling systems, exhaust, gearboxes, sail drives and control electronics. Nanni produces more than 2,500 engines and generators a year and says it has built about 180,000 units.

The range spans 10–230 hp for sailboats and catamarans, 140–370 hp for planing boats, 400–2,200 hp for yachts, and 100–2,200 hp for commercial and naval craft. Displacement engines include the Kubota-based N2, N3 and N4 series (about 10–135 hp) with shaft line or sail drive. The Toyota-based T4 Evo 3 (150–260 hp) is offered with shaft line, sail drive or stern drive. Generators cover 5–800 kW, including Soundless models that the company says are 10 dB quieter.

Nanni also offers hybrid and electric propulsion packages alongside its conventional diesels.
