Norwegian Electric Systems (NES)

Norwegian Electric Systems (NES) is a maritime technology company headquartered in Bergen, Norway, and a subsidiary of the Oslo-listed Hav Group ASA. It designs and delivers AC and DC power and propulsion systems for vessels ranging from fully electric ferries to hybrid offshore support vessels.

Its power portfolio includes AC and DC switchboards, generators, transformers, motors and drives such as the Quadro Drive Ti, together with battery energy storage for newbuilds and retrofits and shore-charging systems that run from the grid connection to the onboard interface. NES also supplies integrated automation systems and Raven navigation products (INS, JPOS, ECDIS and ECS). The company reports more than 60 zero-emission solutions delivered and 132 MWh of battery capacity installed.

Its main segments are aquaculture and live-fish carriers, ferries, offshore vessels and fishing vessels, and client projects include work for Havila Voyages, Fjord1 and GC Rieber Shipping. NES has remained active in 2025–26 with contracts for live-fish carriers and other newbuilds.
