Saft

Saft is a French manufacturer of advanced batteries headquartered in Levallois-Perret and a wholly owned subsidiary of TotalEnergies. With more than 100 years of history and around 4,300 employees, it serves transport, industrial, defence and space markets and has a long heritage in naval and marine batteries, including submarine applications.

For marine propulsion Saft offers the Seanergy range of lithium-ion battery modules and systems, launched in 2014 for hybrid and full-electric vessels and later updated as Seanergy 2.0. The company describes Seanergy 2.0 as modular, compact and maintenance-free with very high energy density at reduced cost, designed for non-propagation, and assembled and tested in France. Target vessels include passenger ships and ferries, cruise ships, tugs, yachts and offshore vessels. Saft's marine batteries have received high-level safety approvals for propulsion use.
