Selva Marine

Selva Marine is an Italian outboard engine manufacturer based in Tirano, in Valtellina near the Swiss border. The company was founded in 1945 to make Lambretta Innocenti components in Sesto San Giovanni, Milan. It moved into outboard motors in 1959, when founder Lorenzo Selva Sr. relocated production to Tirano.

Selva says it is the only European company with a complete in-house production cycle for outboard components, covering die-casting, machining, heat treatment, anti-corrosion treatment, four-stage coating, assembly and testing. It has been ISO 9001 certified since 2004 and is an official supplier to the Italian Coast Guard. Its range includes four-stroke outboards (for example Guppy 2.5 hp to Aruana 40 hp), sport-tuned 4 Stroke XSR models and two-stroke outboards. It also sells rigid inflatable and fibreglass boat packages.

Selva works with partners for some products: Yanmar for saildrives and stern drives, Torqeedo for electric outboards, Seven Marine for drive units and Neander for diesel outboards. Some models are based on partner powerheads.
