About Servogear
Servogear is a Norwegian propulsion manufacturer based in Bømlo, founded in 1973 and part of Bertel O. Steen Power Solutions (BOS Power) since 2022. It reports more than 1,950 installations.
The company specialises in controllable pitch propeller systems for high-speed vessels. Its Ecoflow Propulsor is a complete aft-body package combining CP propeller blades with mechanical-hydraulic pitch control, an asymmetric effect rudder, an optimised propeller tunnel, streamlined shaft brackets and a compact gearbox with integrated servo system. The system suits engines of 400-4,000 kW and speeds of 20-50 knots on workboats, fast ferries, offshore vessels and yachts, and the company says it reduces noise, vibration, fuel consumption and emissions.
Servogear also builds the gearboxes for its systems, including the HD 220, HD 250, HD 295 and HD 450 series in H-, U- and PTI-gear configurations, and the HDE 220 hybrid gearbox with aluminium casing for 900 kW input. All gearboxes carry DNV approval.
