Stewart & Stevenson

Stewart & Stevenson is a US industrial power equipment distributor and service company, founded in 1902 and based in Houston, Texas. Kirby Corporation acquired it in 2017, and it is part of Kirby's distribution and services segment. It has more than 15 branches and also distributes Allison transmissions, Detroit Diesel, Deutz, Develon and Terex equipment.

Its marine propulsion division sells and services mtu marine engines (Series 2000, Series 4000 and mtu marine power systems) for tugs, offshore supply vessels, passenger ferries and government fleets. It also handles Volvo Penta marine engines, including inboards, IPS, sterndrives, auxiliary engines and saildrives, for workboats, ferries and recreational boats.

Services include factory-certified maintenance, emergency repairs, dockside and in-yard work, mobile field response, preventive maintenance programmes, OEM parts supply and full repower project management. Coverage extends along the US coastline through Stewart & Stevenson on the Gulf Coast and the affiliated Florida Detroit Diesel Allison and Atlantic Detroit Diesel Allison.
