TGE Marine Gas Engineering

TGE Marine Gas Engineering is a German engineering company headquartered in Bonn, with an office in Shanghai. It specialises in liquefied gas systems for ships. It has been owned by Mitsui E&S since 2015 and operates within that group's marine propulsion systems division. TGE Marine has more than 45 years of experience and works mainly under engineering, procurement and construction-supervision (EPCS) contracts with shipyards.

Its core business is cargo handling systems and cylindrical and bilobe IMO Type C tanks for gas carriers built under the IGC Code. The cargoes include LPG, ethylene, ammonia, LNG and CO2. The company has delivered more than 250 gas carriers and more than 450 Type C tanks, and it describes itself as the market leader for semi-refrigerated ethylene/LPG carriers. It also supplies systems for LNG bunker vessels, FSU/FSRU units, regasification plants and liquid CO2 carriers.

In marine fuels, TGE Marine designs fuel gas supply systems for LNG and bio-LNG, and more recently for ammonia and methanol. They go on container ships, PCTCs, tankers, LNG carriers, ConRo ships and crane vessels. References include Furetank's Vinga series, Crowley's El Coquí, Heerema's Sleipnir and Höegh Autoliners' Aurora-class PCTCs with ammonia fuel supply systems.
