Tohatsu

Tohatsu Corporation is a Japanese manufacturer of outboard motors and portable fire pumps headquartered in Tokyo, and describes itself as Japan's oldest outboard manufacturer. It has also long supplied small outboards on an OEM basis to other brands.

The international outboard range is organised into portable (2.5-20 hp), mid-range (25-150 hp) and high-power (150-250 hp) categories. Four-stroke MFS models run from the MFS2.5C to the MFS150A, and the BFT150-250 high-power four-strokes extend the range to 250 hp. In selected markets Tohatsu continues to sell two-stroke outboards from 3.5 to 50 hp, including EverRun MX models and a 25 hp jet version. It has also introduced the ALARIS 6.0 electric outboard.

Tohatsu engines are used in recreational boating, fishing and light commercial work worldwide, sold through regional distributors including Tohatsu America.
