UEC-Saturn

UEC-Saturn (PJSC ODK-Saturn) is a Russian gas turbine manufacturer based in Rybinsk, Yaroslavl Oblast. It is part of United Engine Corporation (UEC), which belongs to the state corporation Rostec. Besides aircraft engines and industrial turbines, it develops and builds marine gas turbines for the Russian Navy.

Ukraine's Zorya-Mashproekt had supplied Russian warship turbines until cooperation ended in 2014. After that, UEC-Saturn developed replacement units. The M90FR, rated at about 27,500 hp, is the core of the all-Russian M55R combined power plant. The M55R pairs the M90FR with a 10D49 diesel engine of about 5,200 hp and an RO55R reduction gearbox and transmission, and has a modern control system with vibration and parameter diagnostics. The M55R was first installed on the Project 22350 frigate Admiral Golovko, which was floated out in 2020, and batch production in Rybinsk had started by 2021. Six of the eight planned Project 22350 frigates are to use Russian-made plants. UEC-Saturn also builds the M70FRU cruise and boost turbine.

The company is subject to Western sanctions.
