Vetus

VETUS is a Dutch supplier of systems and components for leisure craft and small commercial vessels, headquartered in Schiedam, the Netherlands, and part of the Yanmar Group. It sells more than 4,000 technical products, over 70% developed in-house, through a worldwide network of branches and dealers. Its brands include Maxwell anchoring systems, Marex boat windows and Yellow V.

In propulsion, VETUS supplies compact marine diesel engines for sailboats, leisure motorboats and inland craft, and a growing electric range. The E-LINE shaft-drive electric motors run from 4.9 kW to 22 kW for boats up to about 15 m, in air-cooled E-LINE AIR and liquid-cooled versions. The E-POD is an all-in-one electric pod drive.

VETUS is a major supplier of leisure bow and stern thrusters. The range covers conventional on/off electric thrusters, proportional BOW PRO thrusters with brushless motors and joystick integration, retractable thrusters for sailing yachts, and ignition-protected thrusters of 25–160 kgf. Hydraulic thrusters of 55–550 kgf are made for continuous heavy-duty use on commercial vessels and large yachts, and the gearless RIMDRIVE thruster is built around a brushless ring motor.
