Fincantieri, the shipbuilder, confirms its outlook for 2025 as profits soar.

The underwater business segment, which saw an 88% increase in revenue, was the main driver of this?fourfold? jump.

The shares of the Trieste-based firm rose up to 7.5% after the results. State-controlled shipbuilder reiterated their 2026 'targets' for revenue between 9.2 and 9.3 billion euro, an EBITDA margin of 7.5%, and a net profit increase. Pierroberto Folgiero, CEO of the Italian shipyards, said that the company was preparing for a further increase in defense demand by doubling its production capacity.

Fincantieri, in an effort to improve profitability, reduce debt, and reposition the group, has shifted its focus from cruise ships to high-margin defense programs.

The order intake for the company was 20.3 billion Euros?last year. This is up 32% from 2024.
