ZF Marine launches new POD 4900 propulsion system
ZF Marine introduced the POD 4900 pod propulsion system designed for vessels up to 150 feet with engine compatibility up to 2,000 HP. It delivers up to 20% efficiency improvement, wide steering angles (+30°/-30°), and reduced noise and vibration. The system supports twin, triple, or quadruple configurations and will first be deployed on the Azimut Grande 30M superyacht, in collaboration with Rolls-Royce Power Systems.
Wärtsilä to equip two high-speed fully battery-electric Danish ferries
Wärtsilä will supply integrated electric propulsion systems with waterjets for two new 129-meter battery-electric catamaran ferries built by Incat Tasmania for Molslinjen. The ferries aim to increase capacity by 25% and significantly reduce emissions on the Kattegat route. The propulsion system includes energy management, automation, and eight electric motors with waterjets, targeting delivery in 2027-2028.

Feadship's BREAKTHROUGH is the first superyacht operated with a hydrogen fuel cell system, consisting of 16 fuel cell modules powered by a cryogenic hydrogen tank. The system supports silent, zero-emission cruising at up to 10 knots and zero emissions at anchor for extended periods. For longer passages, MTU generators burning renewable fuels provide additional power, paired with twin ABB Azipods enabling a top speed of 17 knots and 6,500 nautical miles range.

Pearl Yachts introduced its largest yacht to date, the 30-meter Pearl 100 Hybrid featuring twin MAN V12 2000hp engines combined with E-Motion electric technology. It offers multiple operational modes including silent zero-emission cruising and a 24-knot top speed. The hybrid system supports overnight operation without the generator, reducing onboard noise and emissions.
