The eSAIL is a rigid suction wing that uses a fan to keep the airflow attached, which bound4blue says gives six to seven times the lift of a conventional sail. Model 1 is 3.5 m wide and 16–20 m high, Model 2 is 4.5 m wide and 22–26 m high, and Model 3 is 6 m wide and 21–36 m high, with optional tilting. The sail runs autonomously with no crew input. The company claims up to 40% fuel savings and payback in under five years. The Model 3-24 received a Bureau Veritas design assessment in 2026.
