J-ENG UE (UEC) low-speed engines
J-ENG UE two-stroke engines built under licence since 2022, including electronically controlled and IMO Tier III versions; 100 units by July 2024.
GDF builds Japan Engine Corporation's UE low-speed two-stroke engines under licence. Production started in January 2022 with a 6UEC33LSII, and the 100th engine, a 6UEC50LSH-Eco-C2-LPSCR, was completed at the Jingjiang factory in July 2024. The range covers small and mid-bore UE engines, including electronically controlled and NOx Tier III compliant versions, mainly for Chinese domestic and short-sea ships.
