MARINA
Marine molten salt SMR platform for ship propulsion; twin-reactor 15,000 TEU container ship design received ABS AiP in July 2026.
MARINA is KAERI's marine molten salt reactor technology platform, developed for propulsion of large merchant ships such as container ships and LNG carriers. A 15,000 TEU container ship design with two MSR units sharing load, developed with Samsung Heavy Industries and KRISO, received ABS approval in principle in July 2026; the ship is designed for 25 knots and Neopanamax dimensions. Reactor output has not been disclosed.
