Chart Industries

Chart Industries is a US manufacturer of engineered equipment for the clean energy and industrial gas markets, headquartered in Ball Ground, Georgia. It was acquired by Baker Hughes, with the deal closing on 13 June 2026, and is reported as a separate segment within the group. Its businesses span gas storage and distribution, heat transfer, rotating equipment and compression, and aftermarket services.

In marine propulsion, Chart supplies LNG fuel gas supply systems (FGSS) under the ChartMarine name. Systems include IGF Type C vacuum-insulated fuel tanks, bunkering skids, tank connection spaces with evaporation modules, water-glycol heating, vacuum-insulated piping, vaporisers and nitrogen/inert gas systems. They have been fitted to RoPax ferries, short-sea and chemical tankers, cruise ships and barges, and delivered to DNV, LR, BV, ABS and USCG requirements.

Chart is also developing liquid hydrogen fuel systems for ships: fixed tank systems, exchangeable ISO-container tanks and hybrid LNG/LH2 arrangements. It says it can build tanks of up to 1,700 m3 and supplies liquefaction and bunkering equipment across the hydrogen supply chain.
