About Corvus Energy

Corvus Energy is a supplier of marine battery energy storage systems, based in Bergen, Norway, and part of the BW Group. The company was founded in 2009. It reports more than 1,300 energy storage systems delivered and claims over 50% of the global market for zero-emission vessel solutions. It has 15 offices worldwide and automated production facilities.

The battery portfolio includes the Orca ESS, a high-power modular system with up to 3C rates. It also includes the Dolphin NxtGen ESS in Power and Energy versions, which has DNV cybersecurity certification, and the Blue Whale NxtGen, an LFP system for large vessels that scales from 1 MWh to more than 200 MWh. Corvus systems are used on ferries, offshore vessels, tugs, cruise ships, workboats and in ports.

Corvus has also moved into hydrogen. In October 2023 it launched the Corvus Pelican, a PEM fuel cell system based on Toyota fuel cell technology, and won its first Pelican contract in November 2023. Toyota's Woven Capital invested in January 2024, and a Shanghai office opened in March 2025. Hydro sold its stake in 2025, and new growth capital, including from Just Climate, was raised in October 2025.
