About Isotta Fraschini Motori
Isotta Fraschini Motori S.p.A. is an Italian manufacturer of high-speed diesel engines, based in Bari and owned by Fincantieri. It builds engines for marine propulsion, onboard generating sets and industrial applications, with naval vessels and fast craft as its main marine markets.
The current propulsion range includes the V1312, V1712 and VL1716 families. Listed ratings run from 950 kW at 2,500 rpm (V1312C2 MSD) to 2,200 kW at 1,930 rpm (VL1716C2 MSD), with MLL, MLH and MSD duty variants. Generator versions such as the VL1716C2 ME2, V1312C2 ME5 and V1708C2 ME5 are used for onboard power, and the 16V170C2ME is listed as a military variant.
Through its energy division, the company is also developing energy storage and hydrogen systems as part of Fincantieri's decarbonisation work.
