Masson Marine

Masson Marine is an independent French propulsion manufacturer based in Saint-Denis-lès-Sens, Burgundy, founded in 1908. It designs and builds marine gearboxes and propellers for workboats, fishing vessels, inland craft and tugs, and sells through a network of over 30 dealers including France, Spain, India, Thailand and Singapore.

The gearbox range centres on the MM W series for continuous-duty professional use, from the MM W1900 to the MM W20500, in reversing and non-reversing versions with numerous PTO and PTI types, dual-speed models and twin-input single-output designs. The Merlin range comprises the ML 90 to ML 415 models, and the full electric range includes EM311, EM540 and EM611 gearboxes for synchronous motors plus thrust-bearing units for asynchronous motors. In 2024 Masson introduced the aluminium ALW550 gearbox for high-rpm engines and lightweight vessels.

Masson also designs, builds and installs complete propeller lines, including controllable pitch and fixed-pitch propellers, shafts, nozzles and stern tubes, usually delivered as packages with its gearboxes.
