The ALW550 is an aluminium-housed gearbox introduced by Masson Marine in 2024 for high-rpm engines on lightweight vessels, with reduction ratios from 1.326:1 to 3.000:1. It adds a lightweight option to Masson's gearbox range. It sits alongside the MM W and Merlin ranges and was presented as a new product in 2024.
