Sleipner Group

Sleipner Group is a Norwegian manufacturer of manoeuvring and comfort systems for boats. It was established in 1908 and has had its headquarters and manufacturing in Fredrikstad since 1910. The company has about 230 employees, subsidiaries in Denmark, Finland, Germany, Italy, Poland, Sweden and the UK, and a worldwide distributor network. It reports annual turnover of about NOK 800 million and says it invests around 10% of revenue in product development. According to the input data, it is backed by private equity, with Midinvest Management reported as the owner.

Sleipner is best known for bow and stern thrusters, sold for many years under the Side-Power brand. The range includes the eVision series of proportional, permanent-magnet electric tunnel thrusters (about 100–420 kg thrust, 24/48 V), classic SE on/off thrusters, hydraulic thrusters for larger yachts and workboats, and external and retractable units. Beyond thrusters, it makes Vector Fins stabilisers, power steering and helm pumps, and anchor windlasses. Customers include boatbuilders such as Azimut, Ferretti, Hallberg-Rassy and Sunseeker.
