Torqeedo

Torqeedo is a German manufacturer of electric propulsion systems for boats, based in Gilching near Munich. Formerly owned by DEUTZ, it was sold to Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. in a deal completed in April 2024 and now operates as part of the Yamaha Motor group.

The product line covers portable Travel outboards (700-1,600 W, up to 5 hp equivalent) and the Ultralight for fishing kayaks; Cruise outboards and pod drives equivalent to 6-25 hp for motorboats and sailboats up to 12 tonnes, including new 48 V versions; electric sail drives; and the Deep Blue high-voltage system, with outboards of 25 and 50 kW and inboards from 25 to 100 kW for ferries, workboats and yachts. Torqeedo also offers hybrid systems combining batteries with a range extender, together with batteries, chargers and accessories.

Markets include recreational boating, tenders, dayboats and sailboats, as well as small commercial vessels such as water taxis and ferries.
