Weichai

Weichai Holding Group, founded in 1946 and headquartered in Weifang, Shandong Province, is one of China's largest engine and industrial equipment groups, with about 100,000 employees and exports to more than 180 countries and regions. Its listed arm Weichai Power sits within Shandong Heavy Industry Group.

Weichai's marine business supplies propulsion and auxiliary engines for workboats, fishing vessels, inland and coastal ships, government vessels, yachts and leisure craft. High-speed main engines range from the WP3.2 (25-37 kW) through the WP4, WP6 and WP7 series to the WD10 (up to 240 kW), with larger series such as the WP12, WP13 and the M26 and M33 families above them. At the medium-speed end, Weichai Heavy Machinery builds the WH-series; the WH20 covers 905-1,765 kW at 750-1,000 rpm.

Alternative fuels are a development focus: Weichai offers a WH20 micro-pilot-ignition LNG engine and a 6WH17 methanol engine. The group owns the French marine engine maker Moteurs Baudouin, with which it cooperates on low-carbon marine propulsion.
