HybriGen is BAE Systems' marine power and propulsion system, derived from the company's hybrid transit-bus drivetrains. It combines electric propulsion motors and generators with the Modular Power Control System (MPCS) and Modular Accessory Power System (MAPS). The next-generation version, launched in November 2021, uses smaller and lighter components to raise propulsion power and electrical efficiency and extend range. It is offered for vessels from sailboats and tugs to passenger ferries and is built in Endicott, New York.
