FCwave
DNV type-approved 200 kW marine PEM fuel cell module, scalable from 200 kW to 1.2 MW and beyond for ferries and cargo vessels.
FCwave is Ballard's marine PEM fuel cell module, rated at 200 kW. Modules can be combined into systems of about 200 kW to 1.2 MW, and larger installations are also possible, such as the 6.4 MW order for Samskip vessels in 2025. FCwave holds DNV type approval for marine use and can run on compressed or liquid hydrogen. It powers Norled's liquid-hydrogen ferry MF Hydra, which entered service in 2023.
