The Becker Mewis Duct is fitted ahead of the propeller on slow-speed, full-form ships such as tankers and bulk carriers. It combines a duct with integrated fins to improve the propeller inflow and cut energy consumption and CO2 emissions. Becker cites savings of up to 10% on tankers and bulk carriers. The company reports 2,131 vessels fitted.
