Maritime nuclear propulsion & floating nuclear power programme
Ship-shaped nuclear power plants (Gen III+, ~300 MWe) and Gen IV nuclear propulsion for commercial ships.
CORE POWER's programme covers two applications. The first is ship-shaped floating power plants delivering continuous, high-density power to industry and coastal communities, which the company says use Gen III+ reactors of around 300 MWe. The second is nuclear propulsion for commercial vessels using Gen IV reactors matched to ship size and speed. The company has worked on the MCFR with TerraPower and assessed BWXT's mPower SMR for floating plants.
