The France Hélices Surface Drive System is a trimmable and steerable surface drive fitted with surface-piercing propellers. It is designed for planing hulls of 10 to 40 m operating at 30 to 70 knots, and the company recommends a power-to-weight ratio above 50 hp per tonne. The shallow draft suits yachts, interceptors, coast guard and patrol craft and fast crew boats. The range spans ten models from SDS 1 to SDS 6.
