LM2500 / LM2500IEC (licence)
GE LM2500-series two-shaft gas turbines built and packaged by IHI under GE licence for JMSDF destroyers and land applications.
IHI manufactures GE's LM2500-series gas turbines under licence. The two-shaft aeroderivatives are derived from the TF39 and CF6-50 aircraft engines and are used for marine propulsion, mechanical drive and power generation. In Japan they power JMSDF destroyers. For power generation, IHI lists the LM2500PJ at 21,170–22,100 kW and the LM2500RD at 31,740–31,930 kW in simple cycle, with thermal efficiency of about 37–38%.
