Z-Peller azimuth thrusters
Z-drive azimuth thrusters of 735-2,942 kW (FPP) and 1,618-3,310 kW (CPP) with nozzled Kaplan-type propellers, widely used in Japanese tugs.
The Z-Peller is NIIGATA's azimuth thruster, in production for about 50 years and the leading brand in the Japanese tug market. Fixed-pitch models ZP-09 to ZP-41B cover 735-2,942 kW (1,000-4,000 PS) and controllable-pitch models ZP-31CP, ZP-41CP and ZP-52CP cover 1,618-3,310 kW (2,200-4,500 PS). All use four-bladed skewed Kaplan-type propellers in Kort nozzles and are designed for stable manoeuvring from dead slow to full speed on tugs, offshore support, passenger and multipurpose vessels.
