Silverstream System

The Silverstream System uses air release units built into the forward bottom structure to create a uniform carpet of microbubbles over the flat bottom. Oil-free VSD-driven compressors, each supplying two ARUs, feed air through an air balancing module, and the control and monitoring system provides the operator interface. Silverstream reports 5–10% net fuel and emissions savings depending on vessel type. Retrofits typically take 10 days in dry dock, and more than 160 vessels are in service.
