Geislinger

Geislinger GmbH is a family-owned Austrian company headquartered in Hallwang near Salzburg. It has more than 60 years of experience in drivetrain components that control torsional vibration. Marine propulsion is one of its main markets, alongside power generation, wind energy, rail, off-highway and industrial drives. Its products are used on large two- and four-stroke engines in deep-sea merchant ships, naval vessels and yachts.

The portfolio has four groups. The dampers are the tuned steel-spring Geislinger Damper and the viscous Vdamp. The couplings include the steel-spring Geislinger Coupling, the SAE coupling, SILENCO and SILENCO Neo acoustic misalignment couplings, GESILCO BUTTERFLY and GESILCO DISC couplings, FLEXLINK and Carbotorq. The GESILCO SHAFT and SILENTSHAFT are composite shaftlines. Finally, Geislinger offers monitoring and digital systems for torsional vibration.

The Geislinger Damper uses steel leaf-spring packs with hydraulic damping by engine oil. It is built in diameters from about 0.2 m to 5 m and protects crankshafts, camshafts and propeller shafts. The composite couplings and shafts replace steel components where low weight, electrical insulation, noise attenuation and freedom from maintenance matter, for example on naval ships, fast ferries and yachts.
