About Hydromaster
Hydromaster Propulsion is a Dutch manufacturer of steerable marine propulsion based in Rotterdam, describing itself as a pioneer of steerable propulsion with more than 70 years of experience. The company has been independent and management-owned since 2015.
Its range covers well-mounted, transom-mounted and deck-mounted azimuth thrusters in Z-drive and L-drive layouts, high-speed thrusters for vessels up to about 28-30 knots, fully retractable thrusters for station-keeping and DP support, tunnel and swing-type side thrusters, steerable jet systems and thruster control systems. Power ranges from about 30 to 900 kW, with diesel, hydraulic, electric and hybrid drive options, including permanent-magnet motors.
Typical applications are ferries, tugs and workboats, offshore support vessels, inland ships, naval and research craft and superyachts, where it has supplied swing-type side thrusters. Hydromaster co-developed a ferry thruster with Damen and also supplies complete propulsion packages and service for its installed base.
