Hydromaster retractable thrusters
Bow-mounted thrusters that lower below the hull for manoeuvring and station-keeping and retract flush when not in use; some steer through 360 degrees.
Hydromaster's retractable thrusters provide auxiliary propulsion, manoeuvring and station-keeping, typically installed in the bow. Lowered below the hull they give maximum thrust, with some models steerable through 360 degrees; retracted they sit flush with the hull to reduce drag, and tunnel extensions allow transverse thrust in the retracted position (combi mode). L-drive versions are electric or hydraulic, Z-drive versions take a diesel engine or horizontal motor. Applications include fast ferries, offshore supply, DP, research and rescue vessels.
