Nakashima Propeller

Nakashima Propeller Co., Ltd. is a Japanese marine propeller manufacturer headquartered in Okayama. It is one of the world's largest producers of fixed-pitch propellers for merchant ships, and it is marking its 100th anniversary. The group includes the German rudder and energy-saving-device specialist Becker Marine Systems and has production plants in Vietnam, the Philippines and China.

Its main product is large fixed-pitch propellers for ocean-going and coastal ships. They are designed with a CFD system of about 8,000 cores and use technologies such as minimum blade area, NHV (non-hub-vortex) design, tip rake, high skew and keyless coupling. Nakashima says it machines them to tolerances of 1/100 mm. Other products include controllable-pitch propellers (MODEL XL for large vessels and MODEL XS for medium and small vessels), tunnel, azimuth and jet thrusters, CFRP composite propellers, the ECO-Cap propeller boss cap, the Monster Package, the NASCA autonomous-operation system and shaft horsepower meters.

Nakashima serves deep-sea and coastal merchant ships, domestic vessels, fishing boats and leisure craft.
