Large fixed-pitch propellers for merchant ships, designed with CFD for minimum blade area and with NHV and tip-rake technology.
Nakashima's fixed-pitch propellers are designed with a CFD system of about 8,000 cores that predicts cavitation, which allows a minimum blade area for high efficiency. Design features include non-hub-vortex (NHV) and tip-rake blades to suppress cavitation, high-skew geometry and keyless propeller coupling. Production uses IoT-based management and machining to tolerances of 1/100 mm.
