Autoprop feathering propeller
Two-blade self-pitching propeller that feathers under sail and adjusts pitch to load; for cruising yachts and displacement boats up to 350 hp.
The Autoprop is a two-blade feathering propeller whose blades rotate freely through 180 degrees, feather automatically when sailing and set their own pitch according to load. Bruntons claims up to 85% less drag under sail than a fixed propeller, equal thrust ahead and astern and reduced prop-walk. Shaft models range from the H20 (330-430 mm, up to 40 hp) to the H6/H9/H62 (470-900 mm, up to 350 hp), with APS versions for saildrives. An Eco*Star version is offered for electric and hybrid boats.
