CMD builds Everllence (formerly MAN) B&W low-speed engines under licence. These include electronically controlled ME-C engines, the gas-injection ME-GI and the methanol-fuelled ME-LGIM. In 2012 it contracted to build the first Chinese-made G-type engine, a 7G80ME-C9.2 rated at 31,150 kW, for a 319,000-dwt VLCC from Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding.
