Jastram low-noise thrusters

Jastram's low-noise thrusters target megayachts, cruise ships, research and naval vessels and ships operating near residential areas. Active noise reduction injects air to counter propeller cavitation, which Jastram says reduces thruster noise by about 15 dB(A); passive measures elastically mount the gear, propeller and motor to limit structure-borne noise. The company offers noise prognosis during the vessel design phase. Ratings run from about 70-83 kW (BU10) to 870 kW continuous (BU120).
