TL-40 marine lead-cooled reactor

The TL-40 is a fourth-generation small modular reactor concept that newcleo is developing with Fincantieri for maritime use, with industrial design by Pininfarina. It uses liquid lead cooling with passive safety features and newcleo's MOX fuel from reprocessed waste. A full-scale reproduction was shown at the Venice Architecture Biennale in May 2025. Power output has not been published, and industry press notes that the nuclear design is still at an early conceptual stage.
