Diesel-electric propulsion drives up to 5,500 kW at 690 V per propeller (Drive LV), MV AC drives and Permasyn PM motors for submarines.
Siemens Energy's electric propulsion line includes Drive LV, a low-voltage diesel-electric system delivering up to 5,500 kW at 690 V per propeller, and Drive MV, a medium-voltage AC propulsion system. For submarines it supplies Permasyn permanent-magnet propulsion motors, noted for compact, lightweight design and high power density. Applications include research, naval, offshore and passenger vessels.
