T3S vertical-shaft thrusters
Seachest-mounted azimuthing pump-jets in six sizes up to 2,120 kW and 20 t static thrust, with quiet-rotor option.
T3S units are installed in a flooded seachest, drawing water through hull grates and discharging through a flush-mounted rotating deflector. Six sizes from 24T3S to 70T3S deliver up to 2,120 kW and static thrust of 2.2-20 t, with a quiet-rotor option. RRS Sir David Attenborough carries four 60T3S units; other users include NOAA and the US Navy.
