Caterpillar Marine

Caterpillar Marine is the marine power business of Caterpillar Inc., supplying propulsion engines, generator sets, auxiliary engines, controls and digital services under the Cat and MaK brands.

The Cat high-speed range includes the C7.1, C9.3, C12, C18 and C32 engines and the larger 3512 and 3516 V-engines for workboats, fishing vessels, ferries, tugs, offshore support vessels and yachts. The 3516E, for example, delivers 1,865-2,525 bkW and is offered in IMO III configurations with SCR aftertreatment.

MaK, Caterpillar's medium-speed brand since 1997 and based in Kiel, Germany, produces diesel, gas and dual-fuel engines covering 1,020-16,800 kW for propulsion and 979-16,111 kWe as gensets. Its range includes the M 20, M 25, M 32 and M 43 diesel engines and the M 34 DF and M 46 DF dual-fuel engines, and the company offers methanol conversion solutions for existing engines.

Cat marine electronics include the MPC propulsion control systems and the Gen II Cat Marine Display monitoring screens, plus remote asset monitoring for fleet engine health. Caterpillar serves cruise, ferry, cargo, inland, offshore, tug, fishing, government and dredging segments through a global dealer network.
