Alfa Laval Gas Combustion Unit (GCU)
Burns excess boil-off gas on LNG carriers when it cannot be used for propulsion; GCU 2.0 adds connectivity features.
The Alfa Laval Gas Combustion Unit is a high-capacity system for safely disposing of boil-off gas (BOG) from LNG cargo or fuel tanks when the gas cannot be used by the propulsion plant. The newer GCU 2.0 adds connectivity features. It is used mainly on LNG carriers as part of tank pressure management.
